A sappy Christmas video
The sappy Christmas video was actually pretty fun to make. I originally thought out the video and wrote it as a monologue but when I finished writing it, later that day after reading up on a vlogger whom I enjoy watching. He had mentioned that he likes to challenge himself as much as possible to make the next video better than the last. And not only did I respect that, it also seemed like an excellent idea to mix it up and try and learn new things by doing these video's myself.
So that's where the clone scene's came in. Also I've always been intrigued to see video's that had clone's in them. I have a friend who makes video's with clones all the time but uses them in a serious manner. I decided to try it in a comedic way.
It actually isn't too hard to do. Of course any video maker would call me a loser for writing that cause everything I did was quite basic. But for me as a beginner I was damn proud! The only problem I got stuck with was as I was setting up the scene I blew an electrical circuit in the apartment. It seems as though you can't plug in a set of halogen video lights, the video camera and Christmas tree lights at the same time without burning the circuit!!??!!
At first I thought, hey no big deal, it's just a fuse. But when replacing the fuse didn't work I was not happy. Not only is it slowing me down from finishing my project but also I may now have to hire an electrician! Ouch! We all know how much those cost!
After fumbling with the fuse box for an hour trying to get it all back working. I decided to forget about it and continued filming by just getting an extension cord and plugging everything in to another outlet. Minus the Christmas tree lights, cause we all know what happened the last time.
That's why in the video you'll notice that the "sapin noel" (that's French for Christmas tree) has no lights! ah boo! But at least I finished shooting the scene and then realized that I should maybe check the outlet I plugged into for damage.
Sure enough when removing the outlet I heard sparks! So after finding a spare outlet from the garage and replacing it with the old one, all was good.
Thank whoever is in the sky for that cause I really was not looking forward to receiving an expensive electrician bill over the holidays. I would way rather a scented candle!!! ;)
